Mom Makes a “Mistake” By Letting Her Son Have a Shopping Spree in a Bookstore

TikToker Jacia Moore recently decided to treat her 12-year-old son Bentley with a unique birthday gift. She took him to the bookstore and told him to take as many books as he could in two minutes, and she would buy them for him. It is safe to say that things didn’t turn out the way she imagined.

In a viral video posted on TikTok, Bentley can be seen patiently waiting for his mom to set the ground rules for his shopping spree. After the clock starts running, the boy makes a calculated decision to stick with one bookshelf and try to get as many books on different topics as he can.

Moore immediately realizes her “mistake” as Bentley skillfully piles up books in the bag. He ends up filling out the whole bag while keeping a big grin on his face for the whole time.

“I tried to surprise him for his 12th birthday, and it immediately backfired. I underestimated him,” Moore wrote in the caption of the video, which was viewed 1.1 million times.

Social media users were intrigued to learn more about the book haul, so Moore posted several follow-up videos. Bentley ended up purchasing 47 books while the total cost was $274 after Moore used her points and stamps.
