Kristers Laicans, a pilot for low-cost airline Wizz Air, recently shared a heartwarming video on TikTok dedicated to his parents that has made him a social media star.
In the clip, Laicans can be seen welcoming his parents on a flight that he operates. It is the first time he has flown them as a licensed pilot, and they couldn’t be more proud of their son.
In the caption of the video, Laicans said that it was the “most special day” of his life and thanked his parents for all the support they have given him in pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot.
“Today I had the opportunity to finally fly my parents, the most important people who made my dreams possible!” he wrote. “For the past 6/7 years they have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to give me the opportunity to chase my dreams, it was so special to finally be able to welcome them onboard one of my flights, from the bottom of my heart I thank you so much for everything!”
The video quickly went viral, reaching almost six million views and touching a lot of people judging by the comments. However, some TikTokers were bothered by the fact that Laicans didn’t give his dad a proper hug and wanted him to fix that mistake.
Laicans later addressed it in a follow-up video, saying that the two have the “best father-son relationship you could ever have” and that the missing hug was an accident.
