Make a Small Shift
When the clocks spring forward or fall back, it can affect your baby’s sleep patterns. Babies are sensitive to light and dark, and changes in the clock can disrupt their internal clock. So how can you help them adjust? One way is to gradually shift their schedule. Before the time change, try putting them to bed 15 minutes earlier or later each night to ease them into the new time.
Another tip is to pay attention to natural light. Expose your baby to daylight during the day and keep their room dark at night. This helps signal to their body when it’s time to wake up and when it’s time to sleep.
Lastly, be patient. It might take a week or so for your baby to fully adjust to the new time. During this period, try to keep the same routine as before. Stick to regular feeding and napping times, and your baby will adapt.
