Mom Shows a “Gentle Parenting” Hack for Calming Her Toddler That “Works Every Time”

Calming an upset toddler sometimes seems like an impossible challenge. They ignore all your attempts, whether it’s giving them love and affection or trying to reason with them, and just want to go through with their tantrums. If you find yourself in this kind of situation, you might consider taking a page from Alivia Cromartie’s book and try doing “zoomies.”

Zoomies are often associated with dogs and refer to sudden bursts of energy that send puppers franticly running around. Dogs usually engage in this when they have excess energy to burn or want to show their happiness.

Apparently, Cromartie, who is a content creator on TikTok, figured out toddlers enjoy witnessing zoomies, and watching the activity has a calming effect on them.

A viral video shared a while back on TikTok show Cromartie doing “zoomies” around her daughter Icey, who is visibly upset. Every time Cromartie passes by Icey, the girl becomes calmer until she eventually begins to laugh.

“POV: This is how you gentle parent when your toddler is on the verge of a meltdown … zoomies!” Cromartie explained in a text displayed on the video, which received 15.4 million views while saying that it “works every time.”

A lot of TikTok users praised this hack while some decided to use it as an opportunity to make others laugh.

“I Absolutely love it. Ive learned to totally distract them with love and a safe environment instead of instantly running to frustration. we got this!!,” one person commented.

“My kids would be crying running behind me lol,” another added.
