Emily Blunt is Taking a Break from Acting to Focus on Motherhood

Don’t expect to see much of Golden Globe Award-winning actress Emily Blunt on the big screen this upcoming year. Blunt recently shared that she will take a break from acting in order to focus on motherhood.

Blunt had a busy past year, appearing in a number of high-profile movies, including the new Christopher Nolan blockbuster Oppenheimer. As a result, she didn’t get to spend as much time with her children as she would want, so she’s now set on making up for it.

“I worked quite a bit last year, and my oldest baby is 9, so we’re in the last year of single digits,” she shared during her appearance on the Table For Two podcast. “And I just feel there are cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little.”

Blunt and her husband, John Krasinski, have two children together, nine-year-old Hazel and seven-year-old Violet. With Krasinski also being an established actor and director, Blunt doesn’t want to miss out on some important moments while growing up.

“And it’s, ‘Will you wake me up? Will you take me to school? Will you pick me up? Will you put me to bed?’ And I just need to be there for all of them for a good stretch. And I just felt that in my bones,” Blunt shared.
