The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss is going to be a mom. The Emmy Award-winning actress revealed that she is expecting her first baby during an appearance on late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Moss walked into the studio showing a baby bump, which prompted host Jimmy Kimmel to jokingly ask whether she’s “pregnant or just an incredibly committed method actor?”
“Little bit of both,” Moss responded. “… I’ve been really lucky. It’s going really well.”
Considering that Kimmel is the father of four, Moss used the opportunity to ask for some advice on welcoming her first baby. Kimmel ended up sharing something that comedy legend Bill Murray told his wife Molly McNearney.
“He said, ‘Bring Christmas lights to hang or beads of some kind, a nightlight.’ He said, ‘Bring music,’ which everybody tells you, you’ll wanna bring some music. He said, ‘Bring candles’ — which, we did bring candles, and they were like, ‘You can’t light candles in here, there’s oxygen in this room.’ So bring a battery-powered candle if you want a candle,” Kimmel shared.
Moss will likely take a break from acting to focus on her pregnancy, but there will be a shortage of her projects for the fans in the future. She plays one of the main roles in Max Minghella’s upcoming drama Shell while also starring in the limited thriller series The Veil, which is expected to be released on Hulu at some point this year.
