3 Reasons Why You Should Reinforce the “No Shoe” Rule With Your Kids

Many parents debate whether they should set a “no shoe” rule or not, but this decision can do you more good than harm. Reinforcing a “no shoe” rule can save you a lot of time and energy and here are why you should teach your kids not to wear their shoes inside the house.

Less Dirt

The main reason to take the shoes off once you enter the home is pretty obvious—it will be much easier to keep your house clean. As a busy parent, you probably don’t have time to clean the house every time your kids come from the outside—and you won’t have to if they take their shoes off.

Toxins and Bacteria

In addition to bringing dirt in, toxins and bacteria can also enter your home through your kids’ shoes. That’s why it’s always a good idea to take them off and keep harmful bacteria at a minimum.

Ready for the Future

Having a “no shoe” rule in your home will save your kid from many embarrassing situations in the future. Once you reinforce this rule in your own home, your little ones will develop a habit to take their shoes off when they’re visiting friends and family and avoid the awkwardness of being asked to do it by the host.
