Ways to Convince Your Kids to Eat Veggies

It’s almost a cliche at this point that it’s hard to get your kids to eat veggies. Many people swear that it’s not actually that hard, but nevertheless, so many parents report that their children absolutely refuse to eat it. If you consider yourself to be a part of that camp, we feel your pain, but it doesn’t have to be that hard. Here are some nifty ways to convince your kids to eat veggies.

Do It Yourself

The real best way to convince your children to eat veggies is to do it yourself. But don’t just fake it—actually eat your veggies, and enjoy it as well. Your kids want to be like you, so if you convince them that you like it, they will want to like it too.

Preach the Health Benefits

You should also be telling them how good veggies are for them. Explain that it’s helping them grow up to be big and strong, and how that’s one of the reasons you love eating it so much yourself.

Reward Based System

This wouldn’t be our first choice to recommend, but nevertheless, it can be effective when you have no other option. Simply offer them a reward if they eat their veggies, such as a fun dessert or an extra 20 minutes on the television. Again, not our first choice, but a good idea to have in your back pocket.
