Ryan Reynolds Stresses the Importance of His Kids’ Self-Awareness

Ryan Reynolds is proud of his four children with Blake Lively, and talking to them is the best part of his day. The Deadpool actor recently opened up about the importance of communicating with his children and witnessing how self-aware they’re becoming.

Reynolds recently discussed his approach to parenting with People and said he loves talking to his kids about everything. The actor added he takes a huge interest in their days and how things are going and loves witnessing how self-aware they are.

“I think as parents, we are so much better equipped to handle the rigors of childhood through our kids now than when I was a kid. It’s just totally different now. People are much more self-aware. And that’s the thing we sort of hang our hat on the most is self-awareness with our kids,” he told People.

Reynolds and Blake Lively met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010 and tied the knot in 2012 in South Carolina. They share three daughters: eight-year-old James, seven-year-old Inez, 7, and four-year-old Betty—in addition to their fourth baby, who was born this February. Reynolds previously told CNBC’s Power Lunch they’re doing great after becoming a family of six and added they wouldn’t do this four times if they didn’t love it.
