Part of parenthood is learning how to properly give your child a bath. While something like that seems simple enough, there are actually a few important things to look out for. There are a few mistakes you can make that can negatively affect your child, and here are some that you should definitely avoid.
Water Control
While water is the main attraction, it can also be very dangerous if not handled correctly. You have to remember that your baby is a lot more sensitive to water than you are, which is why you should be extremely careful not to let it get too hot, and also not to let it get in your baby’s eyes, ears, nose, or mouth. It goes without saying that you should pay close attention to the height of the water and make sure your baby doesn’t, heaven forbid, slide underneath.
Soap Control
Soap is also a very important factor to watch out for, because it too can be quite dangerous if not handled effectively. You must be extra careful not to let any soap get into your baby’s eyes, because even though the bottle might say “tear free”, that’s not exactly true. Pay just as much care to not let the soap get into your baby’s mouth.
