3 Easy Desserts You Can Make With the Kids

Even fussy eaters tend to have one or two sweet options that they can’t resist. Making dessert with your kids is a great way to get them involved in the cooking process, help them try new foods, and teach them some essential skills. Here are three super easy (yet tasty and kid-friendly) dessert options that your kids can lend a hand with.

Caramelized Bananas

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 5 large, ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • To serve: yogurt, cream, or ice cream

Instructions:

  1. Heat the butter in a pan and stir in the sugar and cinnamon.
  2. Slice the bananas, arrange them in a baking tray, and drizzle over the flavored butter.
  3. Bake in an oven heated to 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
  4. Serve the bananas with a topping of your choice, taking care as they will be very hot when fresh from the oven.

Fruit and Nut Sundae

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 1 tub of ice cream flavor of your choice
  • 1/3 cup of dried fruit
  • 1/3 cup of chopped mixed nuts
  • 2 tablespoons of chocolate or caramel syrup
  • 1 tin of whipped cream

Instructions:

  • 4 cookies

Instructions:
