Tips to Help You Teach Your Kids to Swim

Teaching your kids to swim can be nerve-wracking, particularly given the dangers that water can pose. Of course, it is exactly for this reason that teaching your kids to swim is so important. Here are some simple tips to help you teach your kids to swim so that the water becomes their friend, rather than a threat.

For Babies

If your child is younger than two years old, make sure to hold them at all times, making sure not to submerge them under the water as they could swallow a lot of water in a small amount of time. So long as you put them in a swim diaper and inflatable wings, you can ensure that they remain safe while developing their swim skills.

For Toddlers

Many small children might start to feel confident in their abilities to swim once they find out how fun the water can be. As a result, they can get into danger due to their overconfidence. Keep an eye on your toddler at all times while also showing them how to blow bubbles. Doing this will enable them to get their faces wet without swallowing water.

Preschoolers

While there isn’t a need to hold your child tightly once they’re four or five years old, remain within reaching distance of them in case they require assistance. Furthermore, they should finally have the coordination to allow them to be enrolled in formal swimming lessons.
