Organizing playdates can seem easy at first. You just figure out a location, get kids together, and let them play. But things are usually not that simple. If you really want to organize a playdate that kids will enjoy, here are some tips you should follow.
Make Sure All Kids Are a Similar Age
Getting together older and younger kids is a recipe for disaster. Kids of similar age will usually have the same interests and are more likely to get along better.
Be Selective About the Location
If you are organizing your first playdate, then your home is the best location to do it. Both you and your kid will feel more comfortable, and it will be easier to deal with unforeseen events. Once you get the hang of it, you can try parks or even arcade parlors.
Have Basic Activities Planned Out
Kids will find ways to play with each other no matter what, but it is better if you start them off. Have a few basic activities planned out, and then let them take it from there.
Don’t Let the Playdate Go on for Too Long
Even if the kids enjoy the playdate, the chances are that they will get bored after some time. So it is better to keep the playdate sweet and short and then organize a second one another day than to let it go on for too long.
