With Halloween soon upon us, the time has come to think of special treats you can give your kids to make this spooky season a memorable one. Here is a simple recipe for Halloween cookies that will be sure to go down perfectly with your whole family.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 250 grams flour
- 150 grams softened butter
- 100 grams of chocolate chips
- 100 grams light brown sugar
- 50 grams caster sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 10 caramel-filled chocolates
- 20 Maltesers
- 60 grams dark chocolate
- 60 grams icing sugar
- 5 chocolate sandwich cookies
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Beat the butter and sugars together in a bowl with an electric whisk. Add the vanilla and egg and whisk further.
- Stir in the flour and baking powder until the dough is stiff.
- Roll the dough into 20 balls. Arrange them on a baking sheet. Lightly press the tops of the dough balls down to make a cookie shape.
- Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden.
- Spoon the melted chocolate into a plastic bag and the icing into another. Add a pop of icing onto each Malteser.
- Use the Maltesers to create the head and body of a spider. Pipe in the spider legs using the melted chocolate.
- Pipe small dots of icing onto the cookies to create the spiders’ eyes.
- You can also use these ingredients to create some bat cookies as well.
