Three Toast Toppings For a Super Speedy Dinner

We all have days when there seems to be no time in the evening to cook. If you’ve got hungry kids clamoring for food, things can get stressful. Make things easier for yourself, by having some super speedy toast toppings to fall back on. These meals are still tasty, healthy, and filling, but will only take five minutes to prepare.

Cheese, Chutney, and Greens

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 4 pieces of bread
  • 3/4 cup of grated cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of chutney
  • 1 cup of wilted spinach (or similar)

Instructions:

  1. Turn on the grill to a medium heat
  2. Spread the chutney over the pieces of bread and top with the grated cheese and wilted greens.
  3. Grill for 5 minutes, until the cheese is melting.
  4. Serve with a green salad or tomatoes on the side.

Tinned Fish and Tomato

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 4 pieces of toast
  • 1 tin of fish (such as sardines, mackerel, or tuna)
  • 4 tablespoons of tomato puree

Instructions:

  1. Mix the tinned fish with the tomato puree
  2. Toast the bread, then spread each piece with the fish and tomato puree
  3. Serve with a salad on the side

Peanut Butter and Cheese

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 4 pieces of bread
  • 4 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of chili sauce

Instructions:

  1. Mix the peanut butter with the chili sauce.
  2. Toast the bread, and then spread with the peanut butter. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top.
  3. Serve with a salad on the side.
