These Low-Sugar Cookies are a Great Treat for the Whole Family

If you love baking some sweet treats and goodies for your family, but have some concerns about sugar consumption, these cookies are a great option. Naturally low in sugar, but high in fiber and protein, these cookies will satisfy any sweet cravings while delivering a nutritional boost. They are also super quick to make, as they don’t require chilling, so you can whip up a batch whenever you fancy.

Ingredients (to make 12 cookies):

  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1/2 cup of ground almonds
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and maple syrup.
  2. Sift in the flour, ground almonds, and baking powder, stir well to combine.
  3. Add in the eggs and milk, and whisk well to combine.
  4. Add in the chocolate chips, and stir well.
  5. Roll out onto greaseproof paper and cut into cookie shapes using a cookie cutter.
  6. Place on a lined baking tray, bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 390 degrees F.
