These Broccoli Tots Are the Perfect Side for Your Kids’ Dinner

Broccoli tots are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. They can be baked or air-fried, making them a healthier alternative to traditional deep-fried tater tots. The best part? They’re incredibly easy to make and require just a handful of ingredients. Here’s a simple recipe to get you started.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of broccoli florets (about 1 large head of broccoli)
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs (panko or whole wheat)
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese (cheddar works well)
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garlic powder, onion powder, or any other seasonings your family enjoys (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Steam the broccoli florets until just tender, about 5 minutes. Let them cool slightly, then finely chop them.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli, breadcrumbs, shredded cheese, eggs, salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings. Stir until well combined.
  4. Using your hands, form the mixture into small tot-shaped pieces and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. For baking, cook in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through until they are golden and crispy.
  6. Serve warm with your child’s favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, ranch, or a homemade yogurt dip.
