Selena Gomez Reveals She’s Unable to Carry Her Own Children

Selena Gomez has been very open about many medical issues she faced over the years, and they’ll affect her future path to motherhood. The 32-year-old actress and singer revealed that she can’t carry her own children, but surrogacy and adoption remain “huge possibilities” since she has a strong desire to be a mom.

Gomez has been living with lupus for over a decade, in addition to struggling with her mental health and revealing her bipolar diagnosis in 2020. She opened up about her health problems in a recent interview with Vanity Fair and revealed she can’t carry her own children due to medical issues that would put her life and the baby’s life in jeopardy.

She’s been grieving this news for a while, but she’s in a much better place right now, after coming to terms with the fact that surrogacy and adoption still remain a possibility.

“It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people. I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby,” she told Vanity Fair.
