Sleepovers are an exciting part of childhood and are an important step in children’s social progression. If this is the first time your child will be away from home for the night by themselves, then here are some useful tips to help you stop worrying.
Their Friend’s Parents Will Be There
There will still be a responsible adult in the house, one you’ve likely met before. If you haven’t met (or even if you have) then you can always have a quick chat with them before. As a parent, they will understand any concerns you have and it will put your mind at ease knowing you’re on the same page.
It’s a Great Experience for Them
While you may be worried, for your child this will be a really exciting experience. Getting to stay up with their friends is a classic part of growing up, and they will have much to gain from it.
They are Not Far Away
It’s good to remember that they are still very close by and you could pop round there easily enough if needed. It hopefully shouldn’t come to this, but will relax you more knowing you can collect them if they need it for any reason.
