Paul Rudd Reveals His Kids Thought He Worked at a Movie Theater

Paul Rudd is one of the most beloved stars of his generation and he’s currently taking the world by storm with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Despite being one of the most recognizable leading men in Hollywood, Rudd claims his kids spent years believing that he actually works at a movie theater.

Rudd’s rise to prominence started with his role in Clueless in 1995 and he went on to star in Friends before landing key roles in such films as Anchorman, Knocked Up, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. He was later cast as Ant-Man in the MCU, and his filmography now includes over a hundred credits, but his kids only recently found out that he’s a Hollywood superstar.

Rudd never felt the need to sit his kids down and explain what he did, and he let them believe that he worked at a movie theatre – starting with his son Jack.

“We were all going, and there was a movie poster that I was on that was in the lobby. So they all just thought that I worked at the movie theater, which I thought was very cute… Then a few years later, I think he was 15, he finally put it together,” Rudd said in an interview with Sunday Today.

Rudd has been married to Julie Yaeger since 2003, and they’re proud parents of two children – Jack Sullivan, born in 2006, and daughter Darby, born in 2010.
