John Legend and Chrissy Teigen want their kids to grow up as kind people who will help those less fortunate than them. This is why the celebrity couple is already teaching seven-year-old Luna Simone and five-year-old Miles Theodore to “give back”.
Legend and Teigen recently volunteered at Los Angeles’ Ronald McDonald House Charities and prepared breakfast for families of children who are receiving care in nearby hospitals and medical facilities. Luna Simone and Miles Theodore joined their parents and helped bake batches of mocha pancakes based on Teigen’s recipe.
Legend later uploaded a photo of the family on Instagram and wrote about how “honored” he is to be able to support the organization.
Legend later had a chat with PEOPLE magazine and went into detail about his decision to include his kids in his volunteering projects.
“We try to teach them that it’s important to give back and to help other people,” said Legend. “They’ve gone with us to help feed people who are hungry, they’ve gone to homeless shelters with us. We try to teach them to be appreciative of what they have and also know that there are a lot of people that don’t have the privileges that they do, so we should do what we can to help them.”
