It’s been years since Jessica Simpson shared some new music with the world, but she’s finally ready to go back to one of her biggest passions. She’s working on some new music and she credits her kids for this breakthrough because they inspired her to “be brave”.
In a recent interview with People, Simpson revealed she was too nervous to go back to performing until she felt her kids were confident enough in school and in life – but she’s finally ready to give it another shot!
“It’s crazy, the responsibility to feel as a parent, but really I look to them and they teach me so much. They’re teaching me to be brave… They know that I’m living my […] and so to have them experience that with me is going to be really beautiful,” she told People.
Making music again is a huge deal for Simpson since she hasn’t released any original songs in 15 years. Her last holiday album Happy Christmas came out in 2010, and she’s mostly been focusing on other endeavors in the meantime, including her successful brand The Jessica Simpson Collection.
Simpson married former NFL player Eric Johnson in 2014, after four years of dating, and they have three children together – Maxwell “Maxi” Drew, 11, Ace Knute, 10, and Birdie Mae, 4.
