Remind Them to Think About What They Enjoy
It can be easy to purely focus on what will be most beneficial to them in the long run, but this is a lot of pressure to have on them from a young age. Most kids don’t know what they want to focus on as a long-term career so this can be hard to think about. Make sure they take into account what kinds of subjects they genuinely enjoy. This is so crucial, as their education will be hugely affected if they don’t care for their subjects.
Help Them Consider Their Skills
Again, this is hard to think about with subjects if they are young but try relating it to things outside of a school setting to make it easier. For example, if they’re good with practical tasks then maybe sciences might be a good choice.
