When it comes to enriching your child’s life outside of school, extracurricular activities are a fantastic tool. They foster development in areas ranging from sports to arts to academics. However, how many activities should your child engage in without becoming overwhelmed? Here’s a closer look at finding that sweet spot.

Balancing Benefits with Burnout

First and foremost, extracurriculars should be fun and fulfilling. These activities can help children develop time management skills and explore diverse interests, but over-scheduling can lead to exhaustion and reduce their enjoyment and engagement in any activity. Ideally, your child should have enough time to complete homework, rest, play, and spend time with family.

Age Matters
