Knowing many languages really affects a young mind’s personality. Every language you learn opens up a whole new world, makes them multi-cultured and makes them explore sides and shades of themselves that they’ve only just discovered. This interesting concept was explored in an article published by The Economist.
The piece questioned whether the personality of a speaker can change according to the language spoken. Apparently, many factors come into play. Being able to speak another language is connected to a more flexible brain. Also, being able to express yourself in foreign languages is connected to the personal quality of being more open-minded and multi-cultural.
According to some scholars, there is evidence and analysis that proves that different languages push speakers to think differently. Isn’t it amazing that we can show different nuances of our personality depending on the language we are speaking?
