Gigi Hadid gave birth to her daughter Khai in 2020, and she recently opened up about the special relationship they share. The famous model and Next In Fashion host said she’s glad to be a young mom and that it was a blessing to give birth at 25.
Hadid previously described her daughter as “my best friend, purpose, muse, greatest pride, and joy”, and she doubled down on those words during a recent interview with The Sunday Times.
“She has already given me so much. I always wanted to be a mom, but I was never obsessive about it or [thought that] I was put on this Earth to be a mom. I’ve always been quite organized, so having Khai at the time that I did was a blessing,” said Hadid.
The model also opened up about her co-parenting relationship with her ex Zayn Malik, saying she tries to schedule her modeling jobs and other business-related trips when “when Khai is with her dad.” She added that it makes her very happy that she can be with both of her parents because “you have a long life alongside this person.”
Hadid and Malik were in an on-and-off relationship for about five years before welcoming Khai in 2020, but they separated about a year later.
