Emily Blunt Shares One Annoying Question Every Working Mother Has to Deal With

Being a working mother isn’t an easy task, even if you’re a Hollywood superstar. Emily Blunt learned that the hard way after becoming a mom of two daughters and facing one annoying question that pretty much every working mother gets asked at least once.

In a recent interview with Porter, Blunt reflected on gender disparities she faced in a workplace as a mother, saying it’s interesting that women are still made to feel defensive of their choices to work, while her male co-stars are not.

“It is interesting that women are still made to feel defensive of their choices to work, and men are not. When I was on set in Atlanta, which was challenging because I was racing back home every weekend… it was amazing how many people asked where my kids were,” Blunt told Porter.

The A Quiet Place star definitely isn’t alone in this feeling because many working moms are constantly trying to balance it all and prove they can be good parents while pursuing their careers. Blunt herself says she often finds herself “over-explaining or compensating” to make it clear she’s still available for work despite raising two kids.

The Golden Globe-winning actress has been married to John Krasinski since 2010, and they’re parents of two daughters: eight-year-old Hazel and six-year-old Violet.
