Baby food often has very simple ingredients, but can be quite pricy to buy. It’s really easy to make your own, and then you know exactly what is in your baby’s food. Here are some simple ideas to get you started.
Carrot, Pea, and Potato
Chop up some potatoes, carrots, and peas. Add the potatoes to a large pan and bring to the boil. When there’s 5 minutes cooking time left add some carrots and peas. When this has cooked and cooled, mash it up with a bit of olive oil.
Chicken, Rice, and Spinach
Get some chicken breast and brush some oil over then wrap in foil. Bake this in the oven for about 25 minutes. Meanwhile, boil some rice. When the rice has cooked, stir through some spinach until it has wilted. Add the cooked chicken, rice, and spinach to a food processor and blitz up until smooth.
Apple and Pear
Slice up some apples and pears, and place them into an oven-proof tray. Add a splash of water and then bake these for 20-30 minutes, until soft. You can then add this to a food processor or just mash it up.
