We’ve all heard the famous saying: “They grow up so fast.” This, of course, is in reference to children, and how parents lament at how quickly their beloved children are growing up. When you’re not a parent, it can be easy to scoff at such a concept. How can they possibly grow up so fast? Once you become a parent, however, you realize how true this statement is, because time flies faster than quicksand when you have a kid.
Don’t Blink
Alright, well it’s all good and well to say that they grow up so fast, but what exactly are parents supposed to do about that? Well, one good thing you can do is to try and cherish every possible moment you can with your children. This means living in the moment, not worrying too much about silly things, and loving them every step of the way.
Put Down Your Phone
This is especially true in this day and age where we’re so addicted to our devices. It can be easy to fall into a routine and go on our phones while our babies are playing in their playpens minding their own business. But the best possible thing you can do for yourself is to stop yourself in that moment and put your phone away. Take a deep breath and watch your child explore the world around them. Appreciate them. Be proud. Don’t blink, because otherwise, you may regret it one day.
