Brooke Shields Opens Up About Struggles with Seeing Her Daughters Moving Out

Actress Brooke Shields isn’t all that happy that she will soon have an “empty nest” after her daughters—20-year-old Rowan Francis and 18-year-old Grier Hammond—move out from home to attend college.

During a recent interview with The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham on SiriusXM, Shields opened up about how she struggles with the fact that she’ll soon have a house just for herself and her husband, Chris Henchy. Rowan is already attending college, while Grier will soon follow in her footsteps.

“I’ve been avoiding thinking of it, because people will say to me, ‘Oh, you’re gonna be so relieved,’ and I just don’t see it happening,” Shields shared.

However, the Suddenly Susan star still believes that Rowan and Grier will end up returning home at one point and hopes that the high costs of living might end up working in her favor.

“And by the way, the cost of living just in this city is so prohibitive anyway that it may work in my favor,” Shields jokingly added. “Maybe I’ll start charging them rent, though. That might be a good idea.”
