Bill Gates Credits His Granddaughter for Inspiring Him to Create a “Better World” for All Grandchildren

Microsoft founder Bill Gates is one proud grandparent, and he wants the rest of the world to know that. Gates recently shared a photo on Instagram that shows him spending some quality grandpa time with 5-month-old granddaughter Leila and daughter Jennifer.

The photo shows Gates reading a book, “How to Babysit a Grandpa” by Jean Reagan, with Leila carefully watching while being held by her mom. One of the richest people in the world also added a post in which he credited Leila for inspiring him to create a “better world” for her and “all grandchildren.”

“Becoming a grandparent has given me a whole new lens to see the world through. It keeps me motivated to ensure my granddaughter—and all our grandchildren—inherit a better world than they were born into,” Gates wrote in the caption.

Gates posted about Leila on social media several times before, including sharing an adorable photo and writing that he can’t “wait to watch you discover the world.”

Leila, whom Jennifer shares with her husband Nayel Nassar, is Gates’ first grandchild. He and his ex-wife Melinda French Gates have two more kids: a 24-year-old son, Rory, and a 20-year-old daughter, Phoebe.
