Beyoncé Explains Why She Let Blue Ivy Join Her During “Renaissance Tour”

Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour has given us many unforgettable moments, and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter got the first-row seat to all of them. She joined her mother as a dancer on the tour, and Queen B recently revealed why she let her hit the stage by her side despite her initial hesitation.

Beyoncé opened up about carving time for her family in the face of her demanding touring schedule in a recent interview with GQ. She revealed that her work schedule is always built around her children, and she tries to tour when they’re out of school so they could explore the world together and get exposed to different languages, cultures, and lifestyles.

She also revealed that she likes having her kids by her side in the studio and during dance rehearsals, so it’s natural for them to learn the choreography. That’s exactly what Blue Ivy did during the Renaissance Tour, and Beyoncé eventually agreed to let her join her on stage.

“Blue is an artist. She has great taste in music and fashion… She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage. Blue wanted it for herself. She took it seriously and she earned it. And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes,” she told GQ.
