Avoiding late snacks might be good for adults, but it isn’t always best for kids. Kids need to eat more, and it’s not usual that they get hungry between dinner and sleeping time.
You shouldn’t let your kids sleep on an empty stomach because they might struggle to fall asleep. But they also shouldn’t indulge in unhealthy food. Instead, treat them with some of the following bedtime snacks.
Apple Slices
Apple slices are both healthy and sweet, so they do a great job as a bedtime snack. You can also cover them with peanut butter for some variety.
Banana
Bananas are filling, and kids usually like them. Also, thanks to magnesium and potassium, they might also help your kid have better sleep.
Yogurt with Berries
Yogurt is one of the best snacks before bed for both kids and adults. It contains tryptophan, which is a chemical known for improving sleep while also being rich in proteins. Berries yogurt is the best choice for kids because it tastes great, but keep in mind to get a low-sugar kind.
Hummus and Carrots
If you don’t want your kid to eat sugary food before bedtime, then hummus and carrots will do a tremendous job. This combination is super healthy and nutritious and will fill their tummies for a trip to the kingdom of dreams.
