It’s extremely important to protect your children from the harmful effects of the sun once summer arrives, and sunscreen is the most powerful tool at your disposal. There are certain areas that we tend to overlook when applying sunscreen to our kids’ skin, and here are five that shouldn’t be ignored.
Ears
Ears and earlobes are extremely vulnerable to the sun in the summer when kids tend to spend a lot of time outdoors. Make sure to generously apply some sunscreen on these areas to avoid itching and sunburns.
Neck
Kids tend to have their hair tied up and wear tank tops in the summer, leaving their necks exposed. That’s why it’s extremely important not to ignore this area when applying sunscreen.
Lips
Lips are very prone to sunburns, as well, so look for a lip balm with SPF protection that will keep your child safe and sound.
Feet
Kids tend to spend a lot of time wearing sandals, slippers, flip-flops and even go barefoot once summer arrives. That’s why it’s crucial to remind them to protect the tops of their feet by applying sunscreen.
Hands and Palms
Make sure to remind your kids to apply sunscreen on the back of their hands when playing outdoors because they’ll be exposed to the sun at all times.
