3 Toffee Apple Recipes

Toffee apples are a wonderful nostalgic treat, as popular with kids today as they were fifty years ago. Families may have their own methods of creating this sweet treat, but if you’re looking to mix up your take on the toffee apple, check out these recipes.

Chilli Toffee Apples

Ingredients (to make 4):

  • 4 apples
  • 6 tablespoons golden caster sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 4 kebab sticks (or similar)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pan, melt the butter and sugar until they caramelize.
  2. Add the cayenne pepper and salt, and stir through well.
  3. Pierce each apple with a kebab stick, ensuring that the apple is secure.
  4. Drizzle the toffee sauce over each apple, or dip the apples in the sauce.
  5. Place on a tray covered with greaseproof paper and allow the apples to cool and set before eating.
