]]>Blunt had a busy past year, appearing in a number of high-profile movies, including the new Christopher Nolan blockbuster Oppenheimer. As a result, she didn’t get to spend as much time with her children as she would want, so she’s now set on making up for it.
“I worked quite a bit last year, and my oldest baby is 9, so we’re in the last year of single digits,” she shared during her appearance on the Table For Two podcast. “And I just feel there are cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little.”
Blunt and her husband, John Krasinski, have two children together, nine-year-old Hazel and seven-year-old Violet. With Krasinski also being an established actor and director, Blunt doesn’t want to miss out on some important moments while growing up.
“And it’s, ‘Will you wake me up? Will you take me to school? Will you pick me up? Will you put me to bed?’ And I just need to be there for all of them for a good stretch. And I just felt that in my bones,” Blunt shared.

]]>In a recent interview with Porter, Blunt reflected on gender disparities she faced in a workplace as a mother, saying it’s interesting that women are still made to feel defensive of their choices to work, while her male co-stars are not.
“It is interesting that women are still made to feel defensive of their choices to work, and men are not. When I was on set in Atlanta, which was challenging because I was racing back home every weekend… it was amazing how many people asked where my kids were,” Blunt told Porter.
The A Quiet Place star definitely isn’t alone in this feeling because many working moms are constantly trying to balance it all and prove they can be good parents while pursuing their careers. Blunt herself says she often finds herself “over-explaining or compensating” to make it clear she’s still available for work despite raising two kids.
The Golden Globe-winning actress has been married to John Krasinski since 2010, and they’re parents of two daughters: eight-year-old Hazel and six-year-old Violet.
