Morning sickness is one of the biggest challenges that expectant mothers face during pregnancy. It is an unpleasant experience that can significantly impact the daily life of a pregnant woman. Luckily, there are some ways to mitigate the effects of morning sickness or at least make them less pronounced.

Pregnancy nutritionist Stephanie Lauri recently shared a reel on her Instagram in which she provided five tips that expectant mothers can turn to in order to tone down their morning sickness and improve their pregnancy.

The first thing Lauri recommends is always keeping a snack at your bedside. This will serve you well during middle-of-the-night or morning cravings. According to her, “morning nausea can be related to blood sugar dips after a long night fasting,” and snack bars, PB&J sandwiches, or potato chips help counter that.

Her next tip is to eat before you are even hungry. This way you’ll avoid the feeling of hunger, which can be linked with nausea. Also, prioritize protein intake during your meals by opting for meat, eggs, Greek yogurt, or cheese. Protein helps the body digest food more easily and keeps you full for longer.

Finally, Lauri suggests being prepared. This includes having some of your favorite easy food options ready at all times for sudden cravings and planning your meals ahead to ensure you keep a balanced diet.

Big families are a blessing but come with all sorts of challenges for parents. Besides trying to find time for work, house chores, and their personal well-being, they also need to pay attention to the family dynamics. It can be hard to dedicate enough time to each child as they might have different needs due to their age or development. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t make each child in the family feel special. Here are some secrets to doing that.

Organize One-on-One Time

Organize some quality one-on-one with each child. It can be some little projects you do together, helping them with homework, or playing their favorite game. Even if you can do 15 minutes per child each day, it will mean a lot to them.

Ask Questions

You need to show your care towards each child. One of the ways to achieve this is by asking questions. Show interest in how each child spent their day, what are they currently working on, and what’s happening in their life outside the home.

Show Affection

Don’t hesitate to show affection to each child. It can be hugs, kisses, or another way that will make them feel loved.

Avoid Playing Favorites

Finally, you must avoid playing favorites at all costs. Set the same rules for each child and show everyone the same amount of understanding. This is the only way to avoid sibling rivalry while making each child feel special in their own way.

Toddlers enjoy listening to music and will frequently hum or sing their favorite tunes. Most of the time, those tunes are nursery rhymes or lullabies. But it turns out that some toddlers develop a sophisticated taste in music from an early age, and that can lead to some humorous situations, as a recent viral video shared by TikTok user Rachael Hampshire shows.

The clip features Hampshire’s toddler Ivy singing the Beatles’ “Hey Jude” while being carried by her dad during a hike. However, it doesn’t take long before Ivy gets carried away and starts screaming the words, which prompts laughter from her mom and dad.

“Take your kids on a nice hike to aggressively sing Hey Jude,” Hampshire wrote in the video.

The video quickly started making rounds on social media, with TikTok users being delighted by Ivy’s rendition of the Beatles’ hit song and saying it made them laugh.

“As a Jude I can say this is one of my favourite versions. ‘MAKE IT BETTER’,” one TikTok user wrote in the comments section.

“I’ve been in bed with bronchitis since Christmas Eve feeling thoroughly miserable, this is the first thing that’s properly made me laugh in days!” another added.

Broccoli is one of the most universally hated veggies among children, and if your kids avoid it like a plague – you’re not alone. Aversion to broccoli doesn’t only apply to picky eaters, and there are several reasons why kids don’t seem to be too fond of this veggie.

Bad Example

Children learn most of their behaviors by example, and it’s common for them to avoid certain foods because they’ve seen someone else do it – including yourself. You’ll have an easier time convincing them that broccoli is delicious if you eat it on a regular basis, so try to set a good example by adding it to your menu.

Scientific Reasons

Studies suggest there’s a scientific reason why kids hate broccoli from the bottom of their hearts. Broccoli and other veggies from the brassica group, such as cauliflower, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts, can produce lingering smells when their enzymes are combined with bacteria in saliva. Adults tend to tolerate the odors over time, while children aren’t used to them and this can impact their relationship with certain foods.

Cooking Method

Some kids don’t enjoy broccoli because they simply don’t find it tasty, but there are ways to fix this issue. Instead of simply boiling and steaming broccoli or preparing it in a microwave, consider exploring other cooking methods and serving it with delicious foods that your kid actually enjoys.

The family of Grammy Award-winning singer Joss Stone is getting even bigger than she planned. Stone recently revealed that she found out she is pregnant just weeks after she and her husband, Cody DaLuz, adopted a baby boy.

Stone shared the happy news on social media with a slideshow of photos that show her joy and disbelief about the unexpected development.

“Honestly. Shocked was an understatement …  nothing and no one can take our joy now. We are so chuffed !!!!, “ Stone wrote in the caption.

Stone and DaLuz previously welcomed daughter Violet in January 2021 and son Shackleton in October 2022. After giving birth to Shackleton, Stone said in an interview with Sun that the delivery was complicated and that it would be dangerous for her to have more kids.

“But I’m still happy to adopt as many kids as I can. I don’t mind if I make them myself or not,” Stone added.

Stone and DaLuz followed through with their adoption plans, which were approved in early December, and they became parents of a baby boy named Bear.

“We can not quite believe it. We are in love big time with this little guy,” Stone shared on social media while announcing the news.

When buying a holiday gift for someone else’s kids, people usually don’t consider potential drawbacks. This prompted internet personality Kylie Kelce, the wife of former NFL star Jason Kelce, to share a helpful guide for this type of activity.

In a recent episode of her Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast, Kelce identified five types of holiday gifts that people shouldn’t buy her kids. According to her, avoiding these gifts will help you avoid upsetting the parents of the kids you are buying gifts for.

The first on the list are toys that have an assembly time of more than five minutes. According to Kelce, these types of toys are time-consuming, and kids are often impatient to see them come together and might end up playing with small parts or even swallowing them while waiting.

Kelce also doesn’t want anything covered in glitter if the glitter isn’t fully sealed to the surface of an item.

“I can’t veto glitter as a whole, but I need you to get something that the glitter is sealed. I need it attached to that surface. I need it not leaving it,” she explained.

The third thing includes toys or items that have no volume control. She learned the drawbacks of these gifts when her son Wyatt received an electric drum set that didn’t feature volume control.

Next on the list is “living creatures.” According to Kelce, you will put parents in a really challenging spot because they might not have the time or space to care for it.

Finally, Kelce says you shouldn’t gift other people’s kids anything that comes with too many pieces. These pieces often get misplaced, and the kid could accidentally swallow one of them.

You can check out Kelce’s full “Please Don’t Buy This For My Children” guide to holiday shopping in the video below.

2025 is just around the corner, and it’s bringing many trends our way – and new parents won’t stay immune to some of them. According to Pinterest’s trend forecast for the next year, “nesting parties” will be going stronger than ever, and they’re all about helping new parents prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

Pinterest describes “nesting parties” as “the baby shower as it should have always been”, but what does set these two concepts apart? Unlike traditional baby showers, “nesting parties” don’t put gift-giving front and center, and they’re all about helping parents prepare their homes for the baby’s arrival.

“Traditional baby showers are about the gifts and the guests. Nesting parties are about helping new parents prepare for the postpartum period, setting up their homes for baby’s arrival with freezer-friendly meals, diaper bouquets, and baby cabinet organization,” reads Pinterest’s press release.

What separates “nesting parties” from “baby showers” is the love language involved. While baby showers rely on gifts, “nesting parties” are all about acts of service and helping the expecting parents check tasks off their lists, giving them a helping hand when they need it the most.

In addition to searching for nesting party ideas, Pinterest users have also been looking for specific terms connected to this trend. “Diaper bouquet” emerged as a popular gift idea for new parents, while baby cabinet organization and freezer-friendly meals also experienced a boom in searches.

You might not be familiar with the term “koala parenting,” but you probably recognize its characteristics. Koala parenting is actually another term for “attachment parenting” and promotes a closer bond between parents and kids from birth.

In simple terms, koala parenting calls for parents to provide affection and constant support to their kids, both physical and mental. It is inspired by the parenting style of koala mothers, who don’t leave their young until they are ready to live independently.

But like all parenting styles, koala parenting has its pros and cons.

Pro: Strong Bond

Koala parenting results in a strong bond between a parent and a kid. They develop a strong connection that carries over to young and adult age.

Con: It Can Lead to Burnout

Koala parenting can sometimes lead to burnout. It can make parents feel like they are constantly focused on their kids and don’t have time for themselves.

Pro: Teaching Valuable Life Skills

Kids who are subject to koala parenting can learn valuable life skills in the process. They are usually better at getting along with others, know how to manage their emotions and have a better ability to deal with stress.

Con: Lack of Independence

In some cases, koala parenting can lead kids to become too reliant on their parents and have a lack of independence. In order to prevent this, parents need to also encourage kids to engage in various activities alone and stop being over-protective.

They’re a potential source of joy, inspiration, and learning for your kids that you really don’t want to miss out on. Here are four great ways in which grandparents add an extra touch of awesomeness to their grandkids’ lives.

Unconditional Love

Grandparents are an ideal source of unconditional love. Not having to set boundaries or deal with messy education challenges, they can afford to dish out hugs, support, and affection without any strings attached. This gives kids that priceless feeling of being totally adored.

Family Matters

From spilling the tea on family gossip to sharing secret recipes, grandparents keep the family vibes strong. They’re a fountain of family-specific knowledge, passing down traditions that make every grandkid feel like they’re part of something bigger.

Lasting Memories

Think back on your coolest childhood memories—chances are, many of them involve hanging out with your grandparents. Whether it’s baking cookies, exploring new places, or playing Go Fish, grandparent-grandkid time is where it’s at.

Guidance and Wisdom

Ever need some life advice that doesn’t come from Google? Grandparents have got you covered. They’ve been around the block a few times and know a thing or two about navigating life’s challenges. Plus, they tend to have pretty legendary anecdotes to share.

Grandparents are so much more than just the personal founding fathers and mothers of your family.
