]]>In a recent interview with PEOPLE magazine, Gellar revealed that she is trading beauty tips with Charlotte as her daughter got older. According to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star, even Charlotte’s friends are happy to take part during a recent sleepover.
“It was fun because we were all sharing tips back and forth. I learned from them. They learned from me. Sometimes she tells me, ‘Oh mom, no one does that anymore,’ and then her friends will be like, ‘Well, actually, that’s really good,’” Gellar shared. “I get some street cred from her friends.”
Sarah Michelle Gellar shares Charlotte with her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr. The couple also has a 12-year-old son named Rocky.
Gellar recently shared a video on Instagram in which she celebrated her kids reaching significant milestones on the same day, August 27th. Rocky had his first day of middle school, while Charlotte had her first day of high school.
“Parents …. Who gets me today?!? But also…. How do I have a high schooler and a middle schooler?!?” Gellar wrote in the caption of the video.

]]>Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Cruel Intentions star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who’s also married to former co-star Freddie Prinze Jr., recently shared parenting advice about teaching children about wastefulness and accountability. Essentially, if her kids neglect to finish their meal, she actually makes them pay money!
“My daughter was doing this thing lately where she was asking me for a cup of milk and not drinking it,” said Gellar. “So I told her that every time she’d ask me for a cup of milk and not drink it, I would take a quarter out of her piggy bank. Someone has to pay for that milk.”
What we love about this is that Gellar is a wealthy celebrity, so she could’ve easily taken a different route and allowed her child to grow up without learning the value of money. But Gellar wants her children to be held accountable for their actions, and this will give them some dose of reality even though they’re being raised somewhat financially privileged.

]]>Gellar is married to her Scooby-Doo co-star Freddie Prinze Jr., and they’re proud parents of two children—13-year-old Charlotte and 10-year-old Rocky. They’re at that tricky age when most kids want to join social media and interact with their friends online, but Gellar doesn’t feel it’s the right time just yet.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star discussed her approach to social media with Yahoo Life’s So Mini Ways and said that her rules are probably stricter than most. She allows her kids to look at social media on her phone every once in a while, but they still don’t have their own accounts.
“I believe kids need to know what their limitations are, and they actually thrive in that environment. We’re not mean, we’re not unnecessarily strict, but we have rules. And the same way I abide by my code of rules, I expect the same from our children,” explained Gellar.
It’s difficult to prescribe the exact age for kids to join social media, but it most likely shouldn’t be before they turn 13—after all, this is the minimum age limit on both Instagram and TikTok.
